Copies of the book „Meghan, A Hollywood Princess“ (Meghan: a princess of Hoolywood), a biography of the future wife of Prince Henry
Meghan Markle always wanted to be a „Diana 2.0“, according to a new biography of the bride of Prince Henry of England who discovers his long contribution to good causes but also his calculating character.
The American actress, who will marry the prince on May 19, is very jealous of her image and does not hesitate to leave friends as she progresses in life, according to the people interviewed for the book.
„Meghan: a princess of Hollywood“, which goes on sale on Thursday in the United Kingdom, details how the 36-year-old actress, one of the protagonists of the series on lawyers „Suits“, left her first husband, who had helped in its beginnings.
The biography is by Andrew Morton, the writer specializing in the British monarchy and author of the bestseller „Diana: his true story“, which had the secret help of the late Princess of Wales.
– Comparisons with Diana –
Morton explains Meghan’s fascination for Diana, Enrique’s mother, at the time of his death in 1997, how he wept at the funeral and followed with interest the details of the collapse of his marriage to Prince Charles.
Friends of the family say that she was attracted to Diana, „not only because of her style, but also because of her independent commitment to humanitarian causes, seeing her as a model.“

Her childhood friend Ninaki Priddy explains in the book: „She was always fascinated by the royal family, she wants to be Princess Diana 2.0.“
Morton says that comparisons with Diana are inevitable, given both their glamor and their attachment to charity.
At the same time, she points out the differences between the shy Diana, who married Carlos at 20, and the 36-year-old Hollywood professional.
„In a way, the woman groomed and ready for the camera that is Markle, is the woman Diana always aspired to be,“ the author concluded.
– Friend of those who could help her –
The book explains that when she finally achieved success as an actress, Markle walked away from her friends, including her husband and producer Trevor Engelson, who had helped her in the beginning.
„His friends in Los Angeles saw the change,“ writes Morton.
„I no longer had time for friends I had known for years.“
„He seemed to be carefully recalibrating his life, forging new friendships with those who could polish and boost his career.“
Markle’s relationship with Engelson began in 2004 and they were married in Jamaica in 2011.

Shortly after his engagement, Markle achieved the starring role of Rachel Zane in the series „Suits.“
Shot in Toronto, the relationship became long distance and the marriage sank in 2013.
Trevor began to feel, little by little, „like something stuck in the sole of the shoe“ of his wife, as a friend explains in the book.
Another friend narrated that the decision to end the marriage was from Markle and another that she returned the wedding ring to her husband by mail.
– A great student –
Markle’s parents separated when she was 2 years old and they divorced five later.
He attended a private school, and is remembered for his strict sense of good and evil.
At the age of 11, he started a campaign that forced the big company Procter & Gamble to change a dishwasher advertisement in which he appealed to women, to appeal to people in general.
Markle graduated in theater and international relations at Northwestern University, near Chicago. He then spent six weeks doing internships at the US embassy in Argentina.
„If she had stayed with the State Department, it would have been an excellent acquisition for the US diplomatic corps, she had everything she needed to be a good diplomat,“ said Mark Krischik, his superior in Buenos Aires.
– Slave and noble ancestors –
The book examines the genealogical tree of Markle, in which finds ancestors both slaves and members of British royalty.
On the mother’s side, she is descended from slaves in the cotton plantations of Georgia, in the southern United States.
On the father’s side, he is a descendant of King Robert I of Scotland, who reigned between 1306 and 1329.
